Physician Assistants

Medical Specialist Corps
Physician Assistants are commissioned as Medical Specialist Corps officers with the Army Medical Department (AMEDD). PAs plan, organize, perform, and supervise medical care at Levels I and II. They also direct services, train, and supervise enlisted medics and serve as special staff officers to the commander, advising on medical-related matters pertinent to unit readiness and unit mission.

In addition to the standard benefits, the National Guard offers additional incentives for Medical Specialist Corps officers:

Provides up to $75,000, paid at $25,000 per year over three years, for the repayment of outstanding educational loans.
