Non-Prior Service Enlistment Bonus - NPSEB

  • If the VCN that you pull for enlistment of an applicant has a Bonus Tier Score of 0 and the MOS is on the Top 10 listing for the state, the GC must call the Incentive Branch for an Incentive Override if the applicant meets all of the enlistment criteria to receive an incentive.

  • Valid AUVS vacancy in MTOE or Medical TDA unit
  • STOs, CASP, and approved waivers are eligible. Exception - DAT waivers not eligible as per details below.

  • Tier II/III education level
  • 09S OCS
  • 09R SMP
  • GNPS. This includes applicants who were discharged from a "conditional" enlistment because of a positive drug and alcohol test (DAT) IAW NGR 600-7 Section II Terms.
  • RFP - may be eligible upon return to MEPS for active contract
  • Excess, over-strength, or manually-loaded vacancy
  • Derivative UIC

Notes

  • Individuals who do not pass the OPAT for the MOS enlisted will have the incentive terminated.
  • A NPS recipient failing to ship within 365 days of his or her enlistment date will have the incentive terminated.
  • A NPS recipient failing to become DMOSQ within the required period will have the incentive terminated.
  • A Soldier voluntarily changing his or her MOS during the contractual obligation will have the incentive terminated, unless assigned as a 09R, 09S or 09W.

Incentive Amounts

  • The $12,500 Top 10 MOS NPSEB is developed to support critical MOS readiness and urgent unit requirements by state. This bonus may be offered to eligible applicants for an MOS in the published list.



Section IIA
Non-Prior Service Off Peak

Non-Eligible
  • Tier II/III education level
  • CASP and STO
  • 09S OCS
  • 09R SMP
  • RFP - may be eligible upon return to MEPS for active contract

Incentive Amounts

  • The $5,000 Off Peak (OP) Bonus is offered to Non-Prior Service applicants who enlist for a RECSTA date of NOV 2017 through APR 2018 with a Training Option of Straight Thru Ticket. This incentive is not authorized for CASP or Split Training Option (STO). This incentive may be offered independently or in combination with the Non-Prior Service Enlistment Bonus (NPSEB) or the Montgomery GI Bill-SR Kicker or the Student Loan Repayment Program (SLRP). The Off Peak Bonus will be paid lump upon award of initial contract MOS and verification of shipping for correct RECSTA.



Section III
Prior Service Enlistment Bonus - PSEB

Eligibility
  • Three or six year term of service
  • E-7 and below
  • Less than 16 years TIS
  • DMOSQ - MOS conversions from other services must be approved by authorizing proponent prior to enlistment
  • 3 year enlistment
  • 6 year enlistment
  • Non-DMOSQ
  • 6 year enlistment (Must complete training in 24 months)
  • Valid AUVS vacancy in MTOE or Medical TDA unit
  • All periods of service must be Honorable (Exception: Completed IADT with an uncharacterized discharge)
  • All approved admin, moral, medical waivers are eligible
  • Individuals assigned to the IRR and require a DD Form 368 for enlistment with ARNG may be eligible for an incentive if meeting all incentive eligibility criteria
  • Enlisting for Special Forces must be MOSQ at time of enlistment to qualify for an incentive

Non-Eligible
  • General Under Honorable discharge for any period of service
  • Previously received PSEB
  • Within 365 days of discharge from USAR or ARNG and was fully eligible to reenlist/extend
  • Soldiers in an active Selected Reserve status while transferring to the ARNG on a DD Form 368 are not eligible to contract for an incentive IAW AR 601-210 Para 10-5b(4); Refer to SRIP #17-01 Para 18.
  • Separated from active service or being released from active service for the purpose of enlistment in a reserve component
  • Excess, over-strength, or manually-loaded vacancy
  • Derivative UIC

Notes
  • Not eligible for SLRP and MGIB-SR Kicker
  • Must process at MEPS
  • If BCT is required, PSEB will be terminated if the Soldier does not graduate BCT within 12 months from the date of enlistment

  • Federal Parent Loans for Undergraduate Students (PLUS Loan[s]) are eligible for repayment as long as the applicant is the borrower and the loan(s) are in the applicant's name.

  • An enlisted Soldier who enters a commissioning program and/or accepts an appointment or commission as an Officer or Warrant Officer in a SELRES (any AOC/MOS) may continue to receive SLRP payments as stipulated in their original contract so long as they remain otherwise qualified.
  • Soldiers reenlisting/extending under a previously executed SLRP contract must reenlist/extend for 6 years within the authorized extension window without a break in service from the original SLRP contract start date. 09S applicants are not eligible.

  • $45,000 for 6x2

Section V
Student Loan Repayment for 09S (NPS & PS)

Specific Eligibility
  • Minimum 6 year term of service
  • NPS - AFQT 50 or more
  • Must enlist into a manually created 09S vacancy and receive a 09S SLRP override in REQUEST prior to the training reservation being pulled. The MEPS GC must request an override from the ROC prior to completing the reservation in order to allow REQUEST to offer 09S SLRP.
  • Minimum of 90 semester hours listed on official transcripts or have a bachelor's degree or higher.
  • Approved admin, moral, and medical waivers are eligible

Non-Eligible
  • GNPS
  • Excess, over-strength, or manually-loaded vacancy
  • Derivative UIC

Specific Eligibility
  • 6 year term of service in an active status
  • E-7 and below
  • Must have less than 16 years TIS at contract start date
  • Enlist DMOSQ - MOS Conversions from other services must meet requirements in prescribed references and be approved by authorizing proponent
  • Valid, top-loaded AUVS vacancy in MTOE or Medical TDA unit
  • All approved admin, moral, medical waivers are eligible
  • All periods of service must be Honorable (Exception: Completed IADT with an uncharacterized discharge)

Non-Eligible
  • General Under Honorable discharge for any period of service
  • Soldiers in an active Selected Reserve status while transferring to the ARNG on a DD Form 368 are not eligible to contract for an incentive IAW AR 601-210 Para 10-5b(4); Refer to SRIP #17-01 Para 18; Note: USAR may be able to retain SLRP incentive IAW AR 601-210 Para 10-5b and NGR 600-7 Para 1-21b.
  • Excess, over-strength, or manually-loaded vacancy

  • Must be eligible to receive Chapter 1606 or Chapter 30 benefits
  • All periods of service must be Honorable (Exception: Completed IADT with an uncharacterized discharge)
  • Meet the requirements to be awarded the MOS at the time of enlistment if enlisting from a branch of service other than the Army for a DMOSQ CS position.

Non-Eligible
  • General under Honorable discharge for any period of service
  • Excess, over-strength, or manually-loaded vacancy
  • Derivative UIC
